Reading papers for the first time in your first year can be tough and tiring! I would aim for what seemed like a reasonable goal of one paper a day. I then broke it up into sections and I would have a break after I had read each section. It's also very important to make notes as you go along. Write about the content of the paper, your opinions on what they did, link it to other papers that you've read etc... Good luck and remember it gets easier! ☀️
